Indications for infectious disease consultation given (see below)?

Explanatory Notes:
In the following cases, we recommend requesting an infectious disease consultation :- For blood cultures with "mixed findings" (e.g. S. aureus with S. epidermidis or E. coli )
- In case of MRSA bacteremia
- In case of community-acquired bacteremia
- For patients with intra- or extravascular foreign bodies, as these are often (secondarily) infected.

For patients with
complications:
- Sepsis/septic shock
- Endocarditis
- Vertebral osteomyelitis
- Septic emboli
- Prolonged bacteremia (positive follow-up blood cultures) despite antibiotic therapy
- Prolonged fever (>72h) despite antibiotic therapy
